Activities at Shoal Point Montessori

At Shoal Point Montessori, the children are given the opportunity to learn the French language, learning colours, numbers, days of the week, months of the year, nouns, verbs and adjectives through books, songs and various other aids.

Cooking Lessons are also part of the curriculum, helping the children refine their fine motor skills, and learn many concepts such as irreversibility, estimation and division. Cooking Lessons take place once every two weeks. Due to safety, the oven is situated on the upper main floor, away from the children.

The children are also exposed to Music every day, introduced through a variety of songs, musical instruments and CD’s.

Gardening activities are also performed. In the spring they will plant flowers and learn how to care for them, as well as the environment.

We believe that these activities provide part of the formation of a well-rounded child.
